A keepsake book feels more personal with a few words from you. Keep the message short enough to read together, then add a detail the child will recognize. Write it on a separate card, or in a suitable space at the front of the book.

A simple three-part note

Start with the child’s name. Say why you are happy they are part of the day. Finish with your name and the wedding date. One or two sentences can be enough.

For a flower girl

Dear [Name], thank you for being our flower girl. We are so happy you will be part of our wedding day. Love, [Names].

For [Name], a little story for your big walk. We cannot wait to share this day with you. With love, [Names].

For a ring bearer

Dear [Name], thank you for being our ring bearer. Your place in our day means so much to us. Love, [Names].

For [Name], a story to remember the day you helped us say “I do.” With love, [Names], [Wedding date].

From a parent or another loved one

For [Name], to remember your special place in [Couple’s names]’ wedding. I am so glad we get to read this together. Love, [Name].

Dear [Name], here is a little keepsake from a day we will share. Add your own favorite memory here after the wedding. Love, [Name].

Make it sound like you

Choose one example as a starting point. Add a nickname you actually use, the couple’s names or something you are looking forward to together. Remove any sentence that does not fit your relationship. The note can celebrate the child’s part without asking them to be perfect.

If you give the book before the ceremony, leave room on your separate card to add one real memory afterward. A message written after the wedding can mention a moment that actually happened.
